APRIL NEWSLETTER
NEW COCKTAIL MENU
Almost thirty years ago our original name was The Grey Dog's Coffee. It was a time of counter service and reserved tables marked by colorful bandanas. Eventually we became better known as a breakfast, brunch, and lunch spot and decided to drop Coffee from our name. Later, the pandemic happened, and when we couldn't invite guests inside, we took it outside. Full table service followed, and with it came a full bar program. That's how Happy Hour began!
And now we're in another new era. Our Columbus Circle location lit a fire under us and the changes you've been noticing across all our locations are a direct result of that. Dave, one of the owner/founders, always says "I feel like we're just getting started." This menu is inspired by the iconic cocktails of the late '90s and early 2000s. We're using top-shelf spirits only while keeping the affordable GD price tag you've come to expect.
OUTDOOR DINING
April is keeping us on our toes. Some days it's 50 degrees, other days it's 70 and sunny. You can always spot the true New Yorkers though. They survived the bitter cold and treat a 50 degree April day like the hottest day in August.
This also means outdoor dining is on the horizon. New York City has embraced the tradition of eating outside, happily ignoring the mysterious steam drifting past the table (where does that even come from?), the characters who stop to chat, and whatever that smell is that nobody ever acknowledges. There's something genuinely wonderful about the city coming alive on the streets, and we can't wait to dine outside with you!
BIG MUTT MONTH
In the past month, together we raised over $8,000 for Muddy Paws Rescue. This is a 50/50 raffle, meaning half of everything raised goes directly to the rescue and the other half goes to one lucky winner. You have one more day to get your ticket in!
A big thank you to everyone who has participated. We'll be posting the raffle draw to our stories on Friday and will announce the winner then.
